One hand, Indian government encourages One India, other hand, it has divided it into 23 Telecom Circles! And so that people don’t have easy communication, they have come out with NLD ( National Long Distance) calls, Intra Circle Calls etc. etc. They have lot of reason for doing so, administrative, technical. But what about subscribers ? What do they stand to gain, or to lose ?

Sadly, subscribers does not stand to gain anything, rather they lose manythings!

1. A new tariff called Inter Circle Call. You are required to pay little extra than the Intra-circle calls. And then you pay higher if the other circle number is different operator than yours!

2. Same Circle Calls(Intra-Circle), but to different operators, you need to pay different, higher charges, less for same operator. It simply says, buddy, ask your family and friend to use same network which you are using!

3. Now Roaming! If you are a subscriber of circle A and you travel to Circle B, you ar required to pay for incoming calls, and pay double for outgoung calls than you are in the ‘home’ network ( from which circle you are a subscriber). Than again, if you are logged into same network as your home network, your charges are less, and if you are logged into other network, than yor charges are high! Few operators have schemes for GPRS, if you are logged into same network, your GPRS access is free, if not you are charged!

They have lot of confusing tariff plans, difficult to access Customer Care, all seem to be scheme of making subscribers pay more and less service!

Confused ? They make many confusing Tariff plan and understanding the fine prints may require you help from a professional telecom lawyer! So what you do ? you simply end up paying whatever amount they have sent you in your mobile bill.
