  • Marwadi Hoon Na!

    Marwadi or Marwari represents people from present day Jodhpur area ( Marwar region), but it normally means people from Rajasthan who are into business of any type. They have spread through out India and also many parts of the world.

    I live in Udaipur, but I am not Marwadi. A Marwadi has certain characteristics, normally, if they have or get Rs. 1000, they somehow manage to convert that to Rs. 5000 a year. I normally spend that Rs. 1000/- in a day or two, if I get it and if I have nothing to do with it.

    I have been in touch with Jitendra Jain for last one year through internet and finally could stay in his house on 30th March 2016. And it was one of those experiences I always look forward to.

  • My pleasant experience with Indian Railways

    The title of this post may come as shock to many who are used to seeing news/blog posts about slamming services of Indian Railways ( juts like me). But things have changed and I am observing this in last two years.

    Recently, I was traveling from Mumbai to Jaipur and then Jaipur to Udaipur. The train number from Mumbai to Jaipur is : 12955 and it starts at around 7:30PM from Borivoli and reaches Jaipur next day at around 12:40PM. The train was on time, and it was very clean. And when I say, very clean, I mean very clean. It was pleasant surprise for me. Not only train was clean, but also all amenities worked! Working of amenities in trains may be taken for granted in western countries, but in India it was always a question mark.

  • Short Bhopal Trip

    After many years, I visited Bhopal enroute to Nagpur on 29th Dec 2015 and reached there on 12pm on 30th Dec 2015 from Udaipur via Ratlam by hopping two trains.

    My host was SS Patel with whom I had some amazing time. I have learnt a lot from him. It’s pity that I did not interact with him more during our college days.

  • New Things

    I have no idea about ‘New Things’ and that exactly is what it makes them new things to me.

    Two years ago, I met Crazy Chicken in Udaipur and we did a whirlwind tour of wild life sanctuaries in Rajasthan looking for birds and I developed idea to look for “new things” in life to know, learn and experience it.

    It has continued and I met some amazing people from different countries in world in Udaipur and have been able to spend some amazing time, experiencing new things, or experiencing old things in new ways.
