Few days in rural Rajasthan – Amazing Experience

Recently, I traveled in rural Rajasthan in Mewar region from 3rd Jun 2016 to 5th June 2016 and then again from 10th June to 12 Jun 2016 with my Dr. Durgesh Sharma. Like any other travel experience, this has been really interesting and amazing experience. We went to Kelwara via Kathar and stayed in a tent near Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary. Then in night, we tried to capture “startrail” which Dr. Durgesh Sharma could capture successfully! Then we went inside Kumbhalgarh WLS the next day and spend the morning looking for interesting birds, animals etc. In the afternoon we went to …

Best Love Stories I have heard

There are classic love stories, best sellers, movies, legendary lovers etc. in all form of arts. Without love or romance, almost no art is complete, it seems. Even hardcore war movies, action movies seem to have some small love stories here and there. Most probably, many people have watched those movies, read those romantic novels. While I have also read many romantic novels, watched some romantic movies. But the best love stories I have heard or experienced is in a train from Chandigarh to Jaipur in Gareeb Rath, via Kota.

Marwadi Hoon Na!

Marwadi or Marwari represents people from present day Jodhpur area ( Marwar region), but it normally means people from Rajasthan who are into business of any type. They have spread through out India and also many parts of the world. I live in Udaipur, but I am not Marwadi. A Marwadi has certain characteristics, normally, if they have or get Rs. 1000, they somehow manage to convert that to Rs. 5000 a year. I normally spend that Rs. 1000/- in a day or two, if I get it and if I have nothing to do with it. I have been …

My pleasant experience with Indian Railways

The title of this post may come as shock to many who are used to seeing news/blog posts about slamming services of Indian Railways ( juts like me). But things have changed and I am observing this in last two years. Recently, I was traveling from Mumbai to Jaipur and then Jaipur to Udaipur. The train number from Mumbai to Jaipur is : 12955 and it starts at around 7:30PM from Borivoli and reaches Jaipur next day at around 12:40PM. The train was on time, and it was very clean. And when I say, very clean, I mean very clean. …

Short Bhopal Trip

After many years, I visited Bhopal enroute to Nagpur on 29th Dec 2015 and reached there on 12pm on 30th Dec 2015 from Udaipur via Ratlam by hopping two trains. My host was SS Patel with whom I had some amazing time. I have learnt a lot from him. It’s pity that I did not interact with him more during our college days.

“Developing Taste for It”

I used to hear about the sentence ( or half sentence) “Develop taste for it” here and there. I never quite understood it, though on looking back, I actually implemented it couple of times before. When young men ( or women, to be politically correct) starts drinking alcohol during their college days, mostly under peer pressure, they normally don’t like the taste of alcohol initially. Then they develop taste for whiskey, rum or beer. I did develop taste for rum, then for whiskey eventually. It took many years to develop taste for beer though.

Few things one must know and Indian Schools do not teach

Over the years, I have found out that, one must learn or know how to do few vital things to live independently. It may be impossible to live without depending on others completely, but if one knows the following things, one may live smoothly. 1. Cooking I think cooking lesson should be compulsory for all. Every one should be at least be able to cook their own staple food, irrespective of their gender. No person should be allowed to pass school if he or she can not cook at least 3 food items. Those three food items should be their …

Flipkart Billion Dollar Sale and My Experience

Flipkart is again coming out with their ‘Billion Dollar’ Sale, The Big Billion Sale, which will be only available on Flipkart App, from 13 Oct to 17 Oct 2015. While many people may be excited about this sale, I am not. Rather I am feeling bad for those Flipkart customers who would be disheartened after finding out that Flipkart does not deliver those sales! I am sure that Flipkart can not deliver those products which would be sold during those sales, but it will surely block some money and banks would be happy. Most probably, making banks happy might be …
